On March 17, 2018, the members of Alpha Zeta spent their Saturday on a vermicomposting farm. It is in the mountain range of Carite, between Cayey and Guayama of Puerto Rico. Since the vermicomposting consists of a process of bio-oxidation and stabilization of organic matter that is mediated by earthworms, obtaining a mineral-rich substrate for the growth of plants; known as vermicompost or earthworm humus. The "Finca El Granadillo" in addition to dealing with vermicompost, also sows some horticultural crops. It also has a small house for rent for tourists to enjoy activities such as kayaking. The farm can be found on social networks (Facebook) as "Organia Farms". Our members assisted with enthusiasm to this farm; wishing the best of lucks to the owner so that his farm can get ahead in business!
