Zeta Partners at The Ohio State University participated in the 2015 College of Food, Agricultural, and
Environmental Sciences (CFAES) "Back 2 School Bash." This annual event is held at the beginning of the academic year to welcome
students back to the college. AZP, like all CFAES organizations, had a booth at
the event to talk to students, especially first-year students, in the college about our organization. Current AZP members discussed the opportunities and benefits of being an AZP member. They shared stories about their trips to Brazil as AZP members, the personal growth they've experienced through the leadership seminars first-year AZP members attend, and the great community that the chapter has worked to establish. This was the first recruitment event of the new school year and a great opportunity to meet potential members of the next exceptional class of AZP-Townshend.
Back 2
School Bash also gave current AZP members the opportunity to work on their public speaking
skills and share their excitement of AZP with other students. The event itself
was planned by the college; however, AZP as an organization was responsible for
organizing a group of members to represent the chapter at the booth. The New Member Development Committee spearheaded the project of creating an exciting booth to be displayed at the event. A trifold board with up-to-date pictures of recent AZP accomplishments and
events, pamphlets outlining some of the lengthier details about AZP, and a slideshow from a recent class' leadership seminars enticed prospective students to learn more about AZP. This year, AZP also had a soccer ball juggling contest in honor of Brazil's favorite sport, the country all Townshend members visit during their membership. Winners of the juggling contest received gift card prizes! AZP Townshend is excited to continue to recruit applicants at exciting events such as the "Back 2 School Bash" for the next class of AZP!
