On September 26th, 2012, prospective new members of the Alpha Zeta Cook chapter piled into a room where their first meeting would be held. This first meeting was held to see how many Rutgers students had decided to participate in the initiation process for our chapter. Our efforts to get our name into the community included two weeks of rush events, chalking and emails. We were rewarded with 25 potential new members who showed up to meet the e-board of the fraternity. They were introduced to their "parents”, our Sargent at Arms and Censor, who will be helping them the most through the entire process. During the meeting, the parents went over the requirements for initiation, including our 6-8 page debate paper. The abstract for their paper would be due that Friday at our New Member Installment Ritual, where they would be getting their Bigs.

After the meeting, about 50 brothers and prospective new members alike hoped into cars and made their way over to the local Applebees. The fraternal atmosphere and half price appetizers encouraged bonding between the new members and current brothers. Brothers tried to meet all the pledges, especially brothers who wished to become Bigs this semester, so they could put in requests to our Censor and Sargent at Arms for the pairing process.
