On January 5, 2012 the Cornell Chapter was given the opportunity to set up a booth at the annual meeting and forum of the New York Agricultural Society. The theme of this years forum was Farming Transitions, or the transfer of farms from generation to generation. This was the first year we had a booth at the meeting because this was the first time we sponsored an award presented by the NYS Ag Society, the Ag Promotion Award. This years recipients were The Cruisin' Classroom in Genesee County and Wyoming County Agri-Palooza.This turned out to be an excellent opportunity to meet agricultural leaders and reconnect with many Alpha Zeta alumni. One of the many alumni present, John Fleming, was one of the panelists for the forum and spoke about his experiences as a co-owner of a dairy farm. Associate member of the Cornell Chapter, Dean Susan Henry, received the Distinguished Service Citation from the society.
