Five members of the chapter were invited to attend the annual fall meeting of the Ohio Agricultural Council (OAC). The OAC is open to both individuals and organizations in Ohio who are dedicated to the promotion of agriculture. During the luncheon, members interacted and met numerous industry professionals, many of whom are AZ alumni.Members had the opportunity to learn more about OAC and observe the meeting proceedings. Members heard from Dr. Bobby Moser, the Dean of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. Dr. Moser gave an overview of the progress the college has made in recent years, the increase in enrollment, and the development and betterment of numerous programs the college offers. He outlined and explained the positive effects that students will receive as OSU transitions from a quarter system to a semester system. Additionally, he encouraged OAC members to invest in the education of younger generations through scholarships and internships. The OAC also unveiled plans to offer a college scholarship for undergraduate students, to begin in 2012. By attending, AZP members experienced valuable networking opportunities, and saw a snapshot of a professional agricultural organization to invest in after graduation.
