The 42nd annual Agriculture Awareness Week sponsored by the North Carolina Chapter of Alpha Zeta was a success! With COVID restrictions from the University making things look much different this year, the Brotherhood made the most of the week and were able to raise $1600 (more than double of what we have raised to donate in previous years) for Feed the Pack Food Pantry at NC State University. Bringing cows, a sheep and goat and even a miniature horse to the Brickyard, Brothers were given multiple opportunities to educate and inform our Raleigh community about the common misconceptions of agriculture. Additionally, our virtual events were quite a hit. With a forum titled ‘ What's the Big Deal with Hemp?”, an Ag Trivia night and a virtual silent auction, Brothers were able to reach further than our immediate campus to spread our message. The week ended with an Alumni Dinner with Brothers all the way back to the class of 1961 joining to celebrate the success of the week. Although a group effort, a special thanks to our two co-chairs, Brother Roshni Panwala and Brother Kelsey Williams, for your dedication to the promotion of agriculture and to all Alumni for your support and assistance throughout Agriculture Awareness Week 2021.
