This Tuesday the North Carolina Chapter of Alpha Zeta participated in one of our re-occurring service projects and cooked a wonderful meal for the remarkable firefighters at Fire Station 20 in Raleigh. The brothers got together at our Service Chair’s house before we needed to be at the fire station and made delicious potato soup and various sandwiches. This time instead of the brothers providing dessert the firefighters were kind enough to make pound cake for everyone. The firefighters invited us to share the meal with them and afterwards we had the opportunity to get to know one another and play games. It was the brothers versus the firefighters playing jeopardy and then bean boozled. Bean boozled is the jellybean game where you get two jellybeans of the same color and one is a tasty flavor, while the other is a nasty flavor. You have to pick and eat one of the jellybeans and hope that it is the good flavor. It is always a great time when the brothers get together to have fellowship and a few laughs and it was nice to share that fellowship with our local firefighters. The firefighters were thankful for the hot meal and we of course were thankful for the chance to once again serve these brave heroes in our community.
