Founder's Day is an annual formal event held by our chapter to celebrate our graduating seniors, alumni, current brothers, and our fraternity's fellowship. The evening started around 6PM with a catered dinner and a keynote speaker. This year Dr. Sandy Stewart talked with us about his experience with Alpha Zeta, how he grew from it, and the opportunities that the fraternity has presented him throughout his life. After the speaker, our Chronicler shared a slideshow of what our chapter had been involved with in the past year. The slideshow also highlighted our graduating seniors and shared their plans for the future.
The committee spends a lot of time planning and organizing Founder's Day. The event was held Friday, April 25th at the MacGregor Downs Country Club. There were 58 people who attended, including brothers, alumni, and friends.
We also include scholarship presentations, including two Chapter Scholarships, as well as the Wakefield and D.S. Weaver Scholarships. We also recognize brothers with the Commissioner of Agriculture Award, Outstanding Senior Brother Award, Chancellor's Award, Service Award, and a Christmas Tree Award. After the awards ceremony, our outgoing officers were recognized, and the evening came to a close with music and dancing.
Our Founder's Day banquet is always a fun and relaxing way to wrap up the semester, while speaking with alumni and learning how the fraternity has grown and changed throughout the years. Our chapter really enjoys this event because it celebrates the four pillars of Alpha Zeta: Scholarship, Character, Leadership and Fellowship.
