On November 18th, 2018, brothers of the North Carolina Chapter traveled just outside of Raleigh, NC to Castle French Farm. This 35 years old 130 acre equine operation focuses on boarding, training, breeding, and selling show quality Sport Horses. With 3 stables and over 50 stalls, this facility is able to house many horses and keeps them healthy and happy with private trails, rubber mats in their stalls, daily stall cleaning, and a European exerciser. While on this tour, brothers of Alpha Zeta learned about Polish Arabian horses and their importance to the equine industry. They also got to see first hand efficient “top floor” feeders. This is a system that operates much like a shoot, where the staff is able to feed horses from the second story of the stable and save time during feeding. Brothers were very fortunate to have this opportunity to learn about equine operations and the challenges they encounter throughout the year.
