Members Katie Bennett, Mikayla Kopp, and Cal Epsilon Alumni, Toushou Long-Vang, volunteered at the Fresno State Horticulture Unit's Spring Veggie Plant Sale at the Fresno State Gibson Farm Market on March 10. From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Bennett, Kopp, and Long-Vang worked hard in helping the community pick out, and buy plants that were seeded and transplanted by Fresno State students. Both Bennett and Kopp work at the Fresno State Horticulture Unit, and they were glad they could see that their hard work in seeding and transplanting the different varieties of plants paid off. The community loved the event and the plants, and about 5,000 plants were sold. The sale profited over double the amount that they had made last year, and at one point there was a line of about 200 people! Proceeds made from the sale help support students, academic programs, and campus farm enterprises.
The next vegetable sale will be on April 26, 2018.
