Every year, as a rush event, Cook Chapter hosts a mixer for potential new members to come out and learn more about the fraternity and meets the brothers. Over the past few semesters, we have started hosting a midsemester mixer as well, that gives the new members yet another opportunity to get to know the brothers in a slightly less formal and intimidating setting. This mixer is filled with fun games that bigs, littles, and the entire brotherhood get to enjoy. This year the mixer was held at the Cook Campus Center, the unofficial home of the AZ Cook Chapter, from 9-10:30 pm on March 13, 2013. The night began with a speed dating game in which brothers and new members stood opposite each other and had 60 seconds to talk to the person opposite them about anything they wanted. This game was followed by the beloved telephone charades; 7 groups and 7 funny acts later, the brothers and pledges could not contain their laughter. The night ended with the traditional game of train wreck. A game that truly shows the similarities and differences of all the members and highlights just how fantastic this diversity of characters really is. The second mixer is slowly but surely becoming a beloved tradition of Cook Chapter and I am sure it will flourish in years to come. This year it ended in a sing along of Happy Birthday to three of our members which was the perfect ending to a fun filled night :)
