Alpha Zeta Partners Townshend Chapter kicked off its recruiting season with an ice cream social and informational session. Eligible students across the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences were invited to come to this event to learn more about Alpha Zeta Partners and why they should consider applying. This event was beneficial to both potential applicants by providing them with information and the Townshend Chapter of Alpha Zeta Partners by helping to secure a premier new class of members. Letters were prepared and sent to eligible students of CFAES and their parents informing them of their ability to apply to AZP previous to this event. A Facebook group was created to help keep these potential students updated on important dates within AZP. The lobby within Norton, the CFAES Living-Learning Community, was reserved and ice cream and many toppings were purchased. We asked the students to RSVP on Facebook to give us an estimate on how many people were going to attend. During the event, the Recruitment Committee gave a short presentation and then opened the floor to questions. Mingling between current and potential applicants occurred at the end of the meeting to get a better impression of the interest in AZP among students.
