The 5K was put on to honor two of our alumni who have battled with Leukemia and Parkinson's Disease.  This year the 5k was held on October 28, 2012. All funds from the race were donated to "Be the Match" Foundation and Parkinson's Disease research.  In conjunction with the 5K we held a bone marrow drive where runners or others could sign up for the National Bone Marrow Registry.  The race was held at Ohio State's very own Waterman Dairy Farm.  This allowed us to showcase to the public some of the great research that is being done here at Ohio State as pertaining to agriculture.  An adhoc committee was formed to organize this event.  We met independently to coordinate donations, advertising, refreshments, and running route.  Most supplies were donated or at no cost. Despite a rainy, wet, windy, cold day we raised over $250.
