The 2012 AZP Hog Roast was a fundriaser for the St. John's Food Pantry of Columbus, Ohio and took place on September 26th. St. John's Food Pantry's mission is to provide food for those in need who live in the 43205, 43206 and 43207 zip codes. It is also open to members of the Community of Holy Rosary & St. John and members of St. Dominic Parishes. Members of the Townshend chapter volunteered their efforts in support of this event. Students contributed food to the event such as cold sides, chips, fruits, vegetables, desserts, and buns for the pulled pork. We used chapter funds to help purchase pop, pork for the sandwiches, and other miscellaneous needs. The chapter memebers were able to work together and volunteer their much appreciated time for the cause. We were lucky to have the college allow us to use the auditorium kitchen and it's roasters to help with cooking and keeping the meat warm. The Public Relations and Fundraising Committee headed this event, and did much of the planning, set-up, and tear-down.
