In late September, the brother of the Alpha Zeta Cook chapter spent the day volunteering at an event known as Duck Land at the Annual Raritan River Festival. Duck Land is a place set up for little kids. The brothers helped the children make sand art, paint pumpkins, create arts and crafts, pour spin art, play games, etc. Brothers also participated in the famous Duck Race where they purchased ducks and threw them into a canal via a giant egg on a crane. The ducks were then observed until someone’s duck floated past the finish line. All of the proceeds from the afternoon and the duck race went to the Beez Foundation(http://www.beezfoundation.org/), a cancer foundation that creates awareness regarding pediatric brain cancer and raises money for pediatric brain cancer research and supporting families in hospitals. Brothers and alumni from the Cook chapter also participated in a cardboard boat race where some built cardboard boats and paddled them in the Raritan river. Two of our brothers, in their fight for glory, made the race pretty entertaining. One of them fell into the water right away while another floated so far he needed to be rescued.
