The Florida Chapter decided to get in touch with our roots again by heading back to agriculture. The Agronomy Department held its 1st Annual Agronomy Fall Festival out at the Agronomy Teaching Farm. Members came out to support one of our own and the mastermind behind the festival, Blaire Colvin. Students came out on a beautiful November afternoon for food, fun, and games. The festival gave students at the university an opportunity to take a look into the agronomy program and meet with the faculty, staff, and students that make agronomy great! For many of our members it was their first opportunity to get up close and personal with agriculture and its machines. Attendees could walk down the plots and look through the student demos or pick green beans. But the biggest source of excitement came from the field itself. Members got down and dirty tilling the soil of plots as they received instruction on how to drive a tractor.
