On April 20th 2011, the Penn State college of Agricultural Sciences hosted Ag day on campus. This year's theme was Ag literacy. Our chapter along with other Ag clubs and Fraternities set up booths that related to this theme. Our booth was a comparison between Organic and Conventional farming. It displayed facts and myths about both farming practices and had edible samples of each. We then asked our visitors if they could "taste the difference”. The catch was we hid the answer of what each sample was. We received a variety of comments about our booth (and food samples) ranging from, "I didn't know organic farming used pesticides” to "I can taste the MSG in this apple”. All and all it was a successful day and a great way for Alpha Zeta to help educate those who don't know as much as they should about food supply.
