At the University
of Vermont, five Alpha
Zeta members were recognized for earning high GPAs during the 2010 spring
semester. Students Jared Alvord, Phil Cohen, Sam Hoadley, Michele Langone and
Vanessa Patten were among the campus’ student-athletes who, for the 16th
straight semester, have posted a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Senior, Jared Alvord, a
member of the UVM track and field team, was named the winner of the F.T. Kidder
Medal at the commencement ceremony held on May 23, 2010. The F.T. Kidder Medal
is awarded to the senior man ranking first in character, leadership and
scholarship and was established in memory of Dr. F.T. Kidder, 1880, a trustee
of the university.
The four other student-athletes and members of AZ also
received awards for their high semester GPAs.
