Congratulations to Amy Schaufelberger for landing a position in the sought-after summer internship program with St. Louis based, agri-marketing agency, Osborn & Barr.
Osborn & Barr (O&B) is a leading marketing
communications firm dedicated to agriculture and rural America. Through their summer internship program, O&B helps to
foster the next generation of talent in agri-business. The 2011 internship class includes 14 individuals, many of whom
are either recent graduates or seniors in college and are pursuing a career in
agriculture.
Amy is a member of the Morrow Chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana. She is majoring in agricultural communications with a minor in animal science and plans to graduate in 2012.
Since
establishing its formal internship program in 2005, O&B has grown steadily and
enhanced the professional development track and on-the-job training that interns
encounter over the course of 10 weeks. The high level of talented candidates
vying for a spot in the program continues to be very deep, and a number of candidates
each year have been able to evolve the internship into a full-time position at
the agency.
"This
generation of professionals has career opportunities in agriculture that my
generation never thought possible,” says Michael Turley, CEO, O&B. "Working
in the agriculture sector is extremely rewarding, and it’s encouraging to see
the future of our industry in the hands of such passionate and capable young
professionals.”
