On September 14, 2019, Brothers traveled to Duplin and Bladen Counties to do a series of farm tours on the east coast. Duplin winery is North Carolina’s oldest operating winery and was established in 1975. They are predominantly known for their Muscadine wines. The Brothers also traveled to Chronicler Barber’s farm in Bladen county. The Barber Farm is a contract grower to the Duplin Winery. They grow different varieties of Muscadine grapes such as Carlos and Dorine. The grapes are grown and processed strictly for wine production. The Barber farm started around 19 years ago and are still expanding and growing in size. Both the farms were glad that we they had the chance to meet and teach brothers in Alpha Zeta about growing grapes and look forward to future brotherhood events.
