In 2014, the Townshend Chapter of Alpha Zeta, located at The Ohio State University began a unique partnership with the Ohio Corn & Wheat Growers Association. This organization supports Ohio State's Alpha Zeta Partners students through the education of agricultural issues. This partnership continues into the 2015-2015 school year with their "Dinner and Discussions" series. Twice a semester this year, Ohio Corn and Wheat will host AZP members at a dinner highlighting a "hot" topic in agriculture. Each dinner also includes individuals who are directly involved or affected by that issue. The first dinner of the year, held in October, highlighted the importance of pollinators in agriculture as well as issues surrounding them. Resident experts attended the dinner and shared information with AZP students. A woman raising bees shared the story of her business. An entomologist was in attendance to address a more scientific view of pollinators in agriculture. An agricultural worker at the dinner discussed alternatives to pollinators in the industry. Ohio State's Alpha Zeta members gained a new perspective and understanding on this unique area in the agriculture industry!
