The Fall 2010 Pledge Class participated in a 5K walk/run to raise money for two different organizations: The Mary Kay Foundation which helps support finding a cure for breast, uterine, cervical and ovarian cancers, and Peaceful Paths, which helps provide grants to women's shelters who have suffered from domestic violence. A few of the pledge class members were able to benefit from this event by getting to know each other during their walk/run while helping out the community. A group of pledges got together and each paid $15 in advance to participate in the walk/run.

Members of the pledge class met up to bring canned goods and various other items to a central location (bus) that was destined for the underserved population in Gainesville. This counted as one of the pledge's two required service events and helped bring the future brothers closer together as well as helped individuals in our community who are in need.

This event called for the Fall 2010 Pledge Class to set up a two-hour time frame during which a percentage of the proceeds at a local TCBY restaurant would be donated to the pledge class. The pledge class then told the Florida AZ members as well as friends and family to come out during that time and buy ice cream and other treats to help offset the costs of AZ national and chapter pledge dues. The pledges received one of their two required fundraising points for participating in this event.
