Florida T-Shirt Making Social 3-18-11

This t-shirt making social was in preparation for the Ropes Course social planned for the following Sunday. Our treasurer, Charlie Doyle, headed up this social out of his excitement for Sunday's ropes course event. Five members came, and anyone could have attended even if they were not planning on going to the Ropes Course activity. Our members had fun socializing and being creative in designing their t-shirts for the following social but also to show their Alpha Zeta support any day!

On March 6th,  5 brothers visited the Shelter of Jesus of Nazaret in Mayaguez.. The shelter's purpose is to take care for children who have been abused by their parents or guardians. Prior to this activity we had made a storage facility with the intent to collect essential items and money for these to be delivered on this day. Once we raised what we needed and established a date with the shelter  we delivered the articles and share with the children, playing and talking with them.

Orphan Acres (Horse Rescue Facility) - 2-27-11

Originally posted by Natalie L. Masin

Every other Sunday, the Elliott Chapter at Washington State University carpools out to Orphan Acres, a horse rescue facility in Viola, Idaho.  While there, we participated in regular feeding, grooming, health care, and blanket checking for the horses.  We also got a chance to groom and walk three blind horses.  This activity benefits the 85 rescued horses at this facility, while helping the owner, Brent, keep up with the work he would otherwise be doing himself.  This is a non-profit institution solely in existence to benefit the neglected, abused, and otherwise forgotten horses throughout the Pacific Northwest...

On February 8th, the "Recycling Project" of Terrace, Mayaguez conducted a workshop to create Valentine's Day cards based on reused materials. It was intended for people of all ages, including kids, youth and adults. The intention was to dare us all to reduce, reuse and recycle in a creative way. The mother of two of our own members of the chapter gave us an orientation of recycling and taught us different ways to use materials in a fun way. Materials were given to us such as paper, newspaper, glitter and buttons. Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice and early Valentine's Day cake.
