On an eventful evening, not only were we able to tour the beautiful Whispering Hope Stables but we were also lucky enough to have the opportunity to volunteer at the service project onsite! The evening began with a scenic tour of the grounds that includes a top of the line boarding facility, trails, and arenas. One of our fellow brothers, Sydney Smith, works at the farm and was able to set up this opportunity for us. After the tour was over, we were led over to the plant beds and quickly given a run down of what needed to be done.
The brothers enthusiastically hopped to weeding many of the plant beds as well as planting several different crops: peppers, parsley, and pumpkin. We were well taken care of as our hosts provided us with cupcakes and water during break time. Going on this farm tour and participating in this service event helped us grow as a brotherhood and make an impact on the Raleigh community. Through our service, we were able to show support for Operation Seed to Harvest’s cause of strengthening the community.
