Alpha Zeta, Puerto Rico chapter, participated in an agricultural fair, which took place from March 11 through March 16 of 2013. This activity is performed once a year, named "Cinco Días con Nuestra Tierra” (Five Days with Our Land). The activity consists of a tribute to agriculture where different producers come to the university to sell artisanal, agricultural, and culinary products. Meanwhile the general public enjoys a family atmosphere with live music and educational talks. The first day, the agricultural faculty made a parade in which Alpha Zeta members alongside other student associations walked and proudly represented our organization. Once the parade finished, we as an Agricultural Honor Fraternity participated in the fair by selling a variety of exotic trees; among them were the Jabuticaba, Vanilla Orchids, Cinnamon Tree, Rambutan Tree, Dragon Fruit Cactus, Mangosteen Tree, Cocoa Tree, and African Passion Fruit. While we sold these agricultural products, we had a excellent time sharing with our fraternal brothers and sisters, learning about these exotic fruits trees, and enjoying the fair. We were delighted by the public’s reaction to the orientation we provided about the products. This activity was a total success due to the fact that we raised enough funds to be able to represent Puerto Rico at the upcoming the National Agricultural Leadership Conference.
