One of NC State University’s most treasured landmarks is the Free Expression Tunnel under a railroad track that runs through the middle of our campus. Students are free to paint anything they would like in this tunnel and it is also the site of campus events and celebrations. The Union Activities Board decided to have a party outside the tunnel after the polls closed on Election Day in order to create a feeling of campus unity. The event also promoted positive artwork in the tunnel. The brothers of the North Carolina Chapter were invited to sign up for 25-minute shifts between 6pm on November 6
th and 6am on November 7
th. Despite the cold, windy weather, seventeen brothers volunteered during the event. They primarily served food such as pizza, cotton candy and doughnuts as well as coffee. Participating in this event was a way to give back to the university by helping the campus community unify over food and games after a very long campaign season.
