Halfway through November five Alpha Zeta members and one friend in Agricultural Extension took part in the College Aggies Online (CAO) Aggies at the Capitol challenge. We had the pleasure of taking part in a tour guided by a former NC State Agricultural Science graduate, who is now employed as a research assistant for the North Carolina General Assembly. Alpha Zeta had the privilege of observing the Oversight Committee in action. This committee is in charge of reviewing all the legislative programs at the Capitol. The Brothers also had the chance to visit the nearby North Carolina Department of Agriculture and took part in an additional tour at the Capitol building where the state government convened up until 1963. During this time, we also had the opportunity to meet three of our state’s legislators, all of which serve vital roles in various committees including agricultural policy.
