The North Carolina chapter enjoyed taking a farm tour at CORRAL Riding Academy this past weekend, October 15th. CORRAL is an assisted therapy, academic intervention, vocational training, and mentorship program in Cary, NC. Since 2008 they’ve transformed the lives of more than 100 young women by stopping the cycle of hurt through the work on their farm. We were able to learn about the work they do with local children and horses who have experienced similar types of abuse. Their goal is to teach the girls that come into the program that like the horses they can overcome their situations and prosper. They hope that over the next five years they will be able to impact 500 more young women. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know about the wonderful work these volunteers do and we were also able to pet Hank the resident dog of the farm!
