   After one of the pledge meetings, the pledges stayed in the meeting room and had a paddle making party. Each pledge is required to complete a paddle and obtain various signatures from the deans, the officers, and active and alumni members.    The pledges can decorate their paddles however they want, but as an incentive, the best decorated paddle will receive an award at the induction ceremony and a prize.   After Tuesday's pledge meeting and Chapter, a group of pledges and current brothers headed out to Tijuana Flats for Taco Tuesday to enjoy a fun family dinner! Pledges got to bond over this social while eating some delicious tacos. Brothers got to socialize with pledges and talk about the upcoming Big/Little reveal. The pledges brainstormed ideas for socials, such as going out shopping for their costume for Big/Little. It was a delicious time!

The Florida Chapter's Fall Pledge Class held their first service project, organized by their service chair Maya. A group of pledges headed out to our adopted road in Gainesville to clean up the trash on the road. They spent two hours of the afternoon on a beautiful day beautifying the community. Thank you for all your help! We're excited to see future service projects from the pledge class.

The pledge semester is an 8 week long process that kicked off Tuesday September 23rd for the pledges first meeting. At this meeting, I went over the new member education packet, or pledge manual, and explained all the rules and history for joining Alpha Zeta. The Florida Chapter held Rush Week from 9/15 to 9/18. The week kicked off with an info session on Monday evening, followed by a tabling event Tuesday at CALS Kick-Off,  sand volleyball on Wednesday, and then game night Thursday. This past weekend, the Florida Chapter conducted a road clean up on our adopted road in Gainesville. This road clean up was very exciting because we had 2 brothers that have never been to our adopted road before. We spent an hour cleaning our road both down and back. I was amazed at how many people stopped by to thank us for cleaning up in their community. All in all, we picked up 2 bags of trash and cannot wait for our next one!
